Toobs 5

Toobs 5, originally uploaded by brappy!.

Last Friday, I saw Susan Robb's new work Warmth, Giant Black Toobs, No. 3 at Volunteer Park, near my house in Seattle. I had read about the mysterious toobs on the cranky Slog and headed over there.

In the lawn outside the Seattle Asian Art Museum, there were a dozen or so toobs anchored to the ground, waving in the wind. The work is powered by the heat of the sun, and with the slightest breeze, the toobs went crazy. It was fascinating and fun. I am very glad I went.

More on the artist, here.
