it's that time again

it's that time again, originally uploaded by brappy★.

Doesn't it seem like Christmas starts earlier and earlier? This year, with a slowing economy in the United States, many retailers have pushed up their holiday sales to early November. Starbucks brought back the red Christmas cups, Christmas trees are up at Urban Outfitters and that annoying Christmas music channel has just popped up in my cable listing again (channel 923 in Seattle)[1]. As someone who struggles with, and often resents, Christmas (I find it a season of stress, sadness and depression, not of joy), this is all hard to take.

Capitol Hillians are getting into the act, here in Seattle. I found this guy, dressed like the Insane Clown Posse meeting Santa Claus, wandering around the city last night.

[1] This is the "Traditional Holiday Music channel. The year-round "Sounds of the Seasons" channel has gone from Autumn/Hallowe'en-themed songs to Christmas already.
